In 2008, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations across Colorado partnered with What If? Colorado to help Coloradans learn how to assemble an emergency preparedness kit and protect themselves during an emergency.

From March 1 Ė 9, 2008, Wal-Mart and Samís Club customers were able to view an in-store display of sample emergency preparedness kit items and pick up a checklist to help them shop for an emergency kit.

What If? Colorado and Wal-Mart also partnered with the National Organization on Disability (NOD). At the end of the nine-day program, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations donated emergency kit items to the NOD’s Emergency Preparedness Initiative, which works to ensure that people with disabilities are included in all levels of emergency preparedness.
