This on-line course is designed to provide information and guidance for the untrained first responder.  Responders must only take actions appropriate to their level of training and their agency’s protocols.

OSHA 1910.120(q) requires all persons who respond to hazardous materials incidents to be trained to at least the “Operations” level. This course does not meet the requirements for certification to this level. It is the responsibility of your agency to insure you are trained.

If you believe you must or will be required to take actions that go beyond those presented in this program, you will need additional hazardous materials training and radiological training (such as the US DOE MERRTT course.)
